How I Teach Karate

At @kalayu, I believe karate should feel empowering and approachable. I teach fundamentals step-by-step—proper stances, basic strikes, and defensive moves—while emphasizing correct form and safety. Training includes drills, kata (form practice), and controlled sparring to build skill and confidence gradually.

I tailor lessons to your pace and goals, combining discipline with encouragement. Karate is about progress, not perfection, and every small step forward is celebrated. Mental focus and respect for yourself and others are central parts of every class.

I offer karate classes designed for different skill levels and ages:
